“Rum Company Mulls Over Counterclaims in Infringement Lawsuit”

Island Co. Rum Inc. may continue to pursue one of its three counterclaims in a trademark infringement suit against it, but its other counterclaims were dismissed without prejudice, a federal court ruled.

Island IP Acquisitions LLC said that it purchased trademarks, social media accounts, and domain names from a bank that were previously owned by Island Co., Spencer Antel, and Island Rum. Island IP sued for trademark infringement, among other claims, alleging that the defendants were continuing to use the intellectual property.
