Luke Combs Hints at Upcoming Studio Release of “Wish Upon A Whiskey” – A Stone Cold Country Heartbreaker!

Post Views: 241

Luke Combs has teased the studio version of his upcoming song "Wish Upon a Whiskey," which he originally performed in Australia and New Zealand last February. This track is part of his new album, The Way I Am, set to release on March 20th. It’s highly anticipated that he might release this song prior to the album’s full debut, as fans are eager to hear more of it.

The lyrics convey the emotional turmoil of a man who feels he didn’t do enough to keep his love. He reflects on trying various means to cope with his feelings, including seeking solace in church and scripture, yet finds himself turning to whiskey for comfort. The vivid storytelling manifests in reflective lines that capture his heartbreak:

“The silence, so quiet,
It’s filling my mind with everything we were that wasn’t,
Once again I fall to pieces,
I gave up on a shooting star,
It’d have to fall down way too far,
To fix this kind of feeling that I’m feeling,
I tried the back pew of that church,
Read every chapter, every verse,
But all my prayers, they always hit the ceiling,
So I do the only thing that don’t make me feel empty,
Pull that bottle out and wish upon a whiskey.”

Renowned for his ability to articulate profound sentiments, Combs is adept at crafting poignant ballads, and anticipation is high for the full version of this song.
