Have you ever wondered what celebrities like George Clooney, Kendall Jenner, Drake, and Bob Dylan have in common? It may surprise you that these seemingly unrelated individuals all have their own successful spirits brands. Joining this elite group is none other than Jason Momoa, the actor famous for portraying Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe. Momoa is taking a plunge into the booming spirits industry with the introduction of his own premium vodka, Meili.

Teaming up with co-founder Blaine Halvorson, Momoa has crafted Meili, a vodka that is bottled at a robust 40% alcohol by volume (ABV) and marketed as being “matured in the fresh mountain air.” The name Meili derives from old Norse, meaning “beautiful” or “the lovely one.” Interestingly, Meili is also the name of the son of the god Odin and the brother of Thor in Norse mythology. Now, thanks to Momoa and Halvorson, it is an alcohol that can be found on store shelves for around $30.

Despite Momoa’s star power, Halvorson insists that Meili is not just another “celebrity brand.” In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Halvorson stated that Momoa’s involvement is purely coincidental, saying, “This has nothing to do with it. (Momoa) just happens to be a celebrity.” While Momoa’s name may bring attention to the brand, the focus remains on the quality and craftsmanship of the vodka itself.

To celebrate the launch of Meili, Momoa and Halvorson will be making appearances at two in-person events on September 19th. Fans will have the chance to meet the duo and get their bottles autographed at Pavilions in Laguna Beach from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., and at Gelson’s in Newport Beach from 2 to 3 p.m. Whether you are a fan of Jason Momoa or simply a vodka enthusiast, these events provide a unique opportunity to connect with the brand and its creators.

Vodka, often overlooked in favor of rye and bourbon within the craft cocktail scene, is poised for a comeback. With celebrities like Momoa lending their names to noteworthy brands, vodka is regaining its place in the spotlight. Meili’s arrival on the market is sure to excite both fans of the actor and those looking for a new addition to their spirits collection.

So, if you find yourself in Laguna Beach or Newport Beach on September 19th, make sure to swing by Pavilions or Gelson’s to meet Jason Momoa and Blaine Halvorson and sample their exciting new creation, Meili. And who knows, you might just walk away with an autographed bottle of this unique vodka. Stay updated by subscribing to the latest news and make sure not to miss out on any future developments in the world of Meili and Jason Momoa.
