The Bloomsbury Club has introduced The Listeners Club, an immersive cocktail experience combining music, storytelling and mixology. Guests can explore five musical eras—from Jazz & Swing and Blues & Soul to Bossa Nova, R&B & Funk, and modern sounds—each paired with original cocktails, a non-alcoholic option and a dedicated Spotify playlist.
On arrival, visitors receive a leather-bound Collector’s Ledger and choose a musical “record” to guide their evening. The thoughtfully designed format encourages guests to take their time and explore how each drink reflects a different mood and era.
Four cocktails stood out during the visit. Stardust Echo blends vodka, Japanese sake, vermouth, green shiso, shochu and clarified Nashi pear juice. Hit Road combines rye and blended whisky with ginger, maple syrup, lemon and black cardamom for a spiced, warming profile. Monroe Glow pairs bourbon and Cognac with fino and Pedro Ximénez sherries and walnut bitters. Sway Baby offers a livelier mix of silver rum, coconut tequila, green mint liqueur, lime and Sichuan pepper bitters.
The experience goes beyond ordering drinks: music and flavour are woven together, with playlists adding atmosphere and the Collector’s Ledger giving the evening a personal touch. The result brings together the polish of a cocktail bar, the nostalgia of record collecting and the intimacy of a listening bar.
